About Ask This Old Geek.
This is a Community Service Program, to provide useful information about various forms of technology, practical for today's use in the home, school, or business, and presented in a way that is understandable to all.
In our weekly programs, we will present various types of technology which of course would include computers, their components and purpose, and some of the basic software. However, we will also have programs about network, from setting up a simple home network, to very useful information about how the internet works, including websites and email. In addition, we will cover the differences in internet services available, such as Cable, DSL, Dial Up, and Wireless, and some of the exciting new trends.
The program will not be limited to computers and the internet. We will also bring in the many other technology devices available for communications, entertainment, and business.
If you do not have a technical background, but are interested in what is available, and how to get started with some of the technology, this is your program!
Your hosts are Kenny and Terence. We are not really old (at least one of us isn't), but most would consider us to be technology geeks. We each have completely different backgrounds in technology, and run separate technology businesses, but with over 60 years of combined experience with various forms of technology, our hope is to provide an interesting and very informative program.
